How We Research

TidioHome is a small team of home organization nerds based in different cities across the US. We got into this because we kept buying storage products that didn’t fit, didn’t last, or didn’t do what the box promised — so now we do the homework before you buy.

What we do

Every guide starts from the questions real shoppers ask: will it fit, will it last, is it worth the price? Then we:

  • Compare published specifications across the best-selling options — dimensions, capacity, materials, and the small details that decide whether something fits your space.
  • Read owner reviews, especially the critical ones. Low-star reviews are where the real limitations live: the pocket that won’t fit men’s shoes, the zipper that fails in month three.
  • Track Amazon US best-seller and category data, so our picks reflect what’s actually selling now — not what was popular two years ago.
  • Name the source behind each key claim, so you can check our work.

When a brand’s marketing claim doesn’t match owner experience — a “24 pairs” capacity that really means 12 for adult shoes, an “80% space saving” figure nobody can reproduce — we say so and use the realistic number.

What we don’t do

  • No paid placements. Brands can’t buy their way onto our lists.
  • No fake lab coats. When we haven’t stress-tested something ourselves, we don’t pretend we did. We report what the specs and the reviews say, and when the evidence is thin, we narrow the claim instead of bluffing.
  • No burying weaknesses. Every pick comes with a “who should skip it,” because the wrong product is worse than no product.

Corrections

Product listings change constantly — prices, variants, and availability shift. We re-check key facts before publishing, and we update guides when something important changes. If you spot an error, contact us and we’ll correct it.
